Kanye West cancelled an appearance he was slated to make on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Friday. The rapper was supposed to sit down with Kimmel for an interview in Austin, Texas during SXSW and take part in a new “Mean Tweets” segment. West was also going to do a skit in which he constantly interrupted people, much like he’s done in the past at music awards shows.

Earlier in the week, Kimmel noted that he was trying to get West to read some “Mean Tweets” while on the show, but talk show host wasn’t positive the rapper would do it. Well, now West has cancelled his entire appearance altogether.

Kimmel told his Wednesday, “Willie Nelson will be here in studio with us. Kanye West was supposed to be here too, but he cancelled – or maybe he’s planning to jump on stage unexpectedly to interrupt Willie.” Kimmel added, “So if you do not like Kanye West, make sure to tune in Friday night to not see him.”

A rep for West says he was “never confirmed” to appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” and “we took extraordinary steps and worked directly with the show to make it happen.” The rep added the “logistics were insurmountable.” What do you think about West canceling?
