There is NOTHING romantic going on between Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx, despite a new round of rumors linking the two friends. Speculation about a romance has popped up intermittently in the tabloids, and Gossip Cop has rightly debunked each and every version of the rumor. On Tuesday, the story popped up again.

According to People, Holmes and Foxx have a “secret relationship.” The outlet is careful not to say they’re dating (because they’re not), instead stirring speculation by claiming the stars “have been spending time together… but it’s nothing serious.” The outlet’s insider says Holmes has been spotted visiting Foxx “often” at his house, spending “hours together” with the actor.

The story is confusing, since even People seems to realize there’s no truth to it. “This is not some intense romance,” says a source for the outlet. “Jamie and Katie are friends and have been for a long time. They are two adults who are attractive and single, and so apparently conclusions will be drawn.”

No, “conclusions” do not have to be drawn. RadarOnline claimed Foxx and Holmes were hooking up in 2013. In Touch said it that same year. Then Us Weekly alleged there was a “secret fling.” Both OK! and Star ran bogus rumors about Foxx and Holmes last year. The National Enquirer went so far as to say Holmes had moved to California for Foxx.

Each time, Gossip Cop correctly shot down the rumored romance, and time has proven us right. We’re right this time, too. Foxx and Holmes do NOT have a “secret relationship.” They’re friends. Period. As Holmes herself once told Gossip Cop about the constant wrong dating rumors, “It’s just one of those things where I understand as a public person, you are a public thing, but there is a human behind it, and it often gets a little bit confusing and circus-like.”
