Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson “Divorce” Made Up By Star Magazine (EXCLUSIVE)

Tom Hanks Rita Wilson Divorce

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are not getting a “$400 million divorce,” despite another garbage story from Star, an outlet that seems to fabricate bogus divorce cover stories whenever it gets bored. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the report, which alleges Wilson has walked out on Hanks after 26 years together.

According to Star, the couple’s marriage is “close to the breaking point.” One so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “You can feel the consistent tension between them. They’ve both been good at biting their tongues for years, but it’s reached a point where they’ve started to let loose at each other when they’re out of the public eye. They’re like a volcano that’s about to explode!”

The magazine alleges that Hanks and Wilson’s relationship has become cold and impersonal, and that he rules their household in an icy, controlling way at odds with his public persona as a nice guy. Mind you, Star provides NO actual evidence for any of this. But it makes for a sensational headline.

Star previously claimed last October that Hanks and Wilson had hit a “rough patch.” As Gossip Cop reported at the time, that was 100 percent untrue. In the last year or so, Star has run cover stories claiming Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, Will Smith, Channing Tatum, Faith Hill, Nicole Kidman and Justin Timberlake were all getting divorced. In every single case, Star was spreading a lie. The pattern continues here.

A rep for Wilson tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “It’s Star, need I say more?” The spokesperson calls the divorce speculation “utter rubbish.” That pretty much defines the magazine.
