Are they or aren’t they? That was the question on Ellen DeGeneres‘ mind when Mila Kunis appeared on Tuesday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” While the new mom spoke lovingly about her four-month-old baby, Wyatt Isabelle, with Ashton Kutcher, what DeGeneres really wanted to know was whether the couple was secretly married. Watch below!
Kunis was on DeGeneres’ talk show for the first time since giving birth last September, and the host showed a picture Kutcher posted online of a New Year’s message written in the sand from “the Kutchers” (see photo above). DeGeneres told Kunis, “I’m your friend, but it’s my duty as a talk show host to ask you the question if you’re married, because he posted this, so it means something, I would think.”
Kunis smiled and shrugged in response, before letting out some giggles. “I’m gonna say yes,” DeGeneres concluded, to which Kunis replied, “I don’t know.” The former “That ’70s Show” star pointed out, “We could just be a plural. My daughter has his last name legally. Thus, there’s multiple Kutchers.” DeGeneres then asked why marrying “is such a secret,” and hilariously wondered if she was “trying to stay on the market.” The comedienne wasn’t buying Kunis’ non-answers, but for the record, there’s still no official confirmation.
But while not saying whether he’s gone from fiancé to husband, Kunis had nothing but praise for Kutcher as a father, calling him “amazing” and “100 percent present.” “The second she was born he changed the first diaper,” gushed the star. “And has changed multiple diapers ever since. If he’s home he changes the diaper. He became a master swaddler. He can swaddle anyone’s baby.”
Kunis also revealed that Wyatt was 9.5 pounds at birth and “skipped the newborn stage,” and explained why she chose not to hire a nanny for these first few months. “Because I’m in a very specific place in my life where I could take time off, I did. And I don’t think that everybody has that privilege. I think that people nowadays have to go back to work right away and I didn’t, so I took advantage of it,” she told DeGeneres. Kunis went on, “Like, I love the fact that the first three months she and I were up every night and I figured her out and she figured me outm and she now sleeps in her own crib in her own room, and I will never have that time again.”
The Jupiter Ascending star further opened up about how her perspective on love has changed, saying, “You think you know love — and I know people say this all the time — but the truest meaning of unconditional love is my child.” She continued, “I thought I loved Ashton. I thought I loved my parents, my dogs. I was like, ‘I know love.’ It’s such a different aspect of it. It’s not like it’s greater or lesser. It’s just in a whole other field.”
“And if she murdered somebody in cold blood I would love her. I would be like, ‘That’s okay!'” Kunis said, prompting a priceless reaction from DeGeneres. Kunis told her, “But it’s true. It’s so weird, but when she was born, I was like, ‘This is the most incredible thing that’s ever happened.'” Check out the full interview below!
