T.I. wants Iggy Azalea to shut up. The rapper says his outspoken protégé needs to stop engaging in controversies, much like Tom Brady shouldn’t be talking about Deflategate. Watch the video below.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Azalea has been involved in a number of high-profile feuds with fellow stars, including Snoop Dogg and Azealia Banks. She’s traded barbs with both of them on social media, and often uses her Twitter account to hit back at negative perceptions of her, namely that she has become successful by appropriating black culture. That issue came up again this week, when Azalea tweeted responses to recent comments made by Jill Scott and Eve.
Azalea also had a second firestorm this week, when she lashed out over photos for her new Steve Madden campaign, calling them the “most disgusting” and “gross” pictures ever, and ripping the company for not allowing her to approve them in advance. She then backtracked, explaining that she was upset because they were snapshots that she “wasn’t a part of creating that I felt weren’t reflective of my vision and direction for the collection,” and noted that there are other Steve Madden images she posed for that she loves. “Sorry for the drama!” she wrote in her clarification on Instagram. “I didn’t mean for it to turn into some big blog situation (as usual) but I’m not gonna sit back and totally let Steve Madden get dragged under the bus because as a whole they’re awesome [people].”
In light of her most recent comments, TMZ paparazzi asked T.I. whether he believes she should be speaking out as she so often does. “Absolutely not,” he replied. “I think she should focus on what got her here. That’s her music, her performing. And continue to just present her talents to the world.” The paparazzo then asked if Azalea should just “leave all the drama alone,” and he answered, “Pretty much, man.” T.I. went on to make a timely comparison, saying, “It’s just like asking Tom Brady if he should be commenting on Deflategate. You know what I’m saying? You should be worried about the big game on Sunday.”
T.I., who gave Azalea her big break through his Grand Hustle Records label, previously defended the Australian star during her feud with Snoop last year. We’re not sure how she’ll take her mentor now publicly criticizing her. Check out the video below, and tell us what you think.
