Blake Shelton is defending his recent American Sniper tweets that called out celebrities who have criticized the film. Check out the video below.

As Gossip Cop reported, after some controversial remarks earlier this week from Michael Moore, among others, Shelton posted on Twitter, “I can’t WAIT to see American Sniper!!! Proud to support our military. Period.” He went on, “Sickens me to see celebrities or anybody slam the very people who protect their right to talk sh*t… #truecowards.”

Shelton was asked about the tweets by a TMZ paparazzo outside of “Saturday Night Live” rehearsals on Wednesday night. “I defend our military,” explained the star. “I don’t like people that talk sh*t about our military, no matter what arm or leg it is.” Shelton was also invited to share his all-time favorite war movie, and answered M*A*S*H, which is best known as a television show, but was a critically-acclaimed big-screen movie in 1970 before the TV series launched.

The “Voice” coach further spoke with E! News about his comments, and admitted, “Sometimes I probably say things on [Twitter] I shouldn’t say… I had a few drinks and had to go off about a movie I want to see.” Watch the video below, and tell us what you think of Shelton’s perspective.
