Justin Bieber will be the next subject of a Comedy Central roast, no doubt a huge delight to the superstar’s haters. The network announced the news on Tuesday.
Like the network’s previous specials, the program will feature Bieber getting roasted by a number of stand-up comedians and other stars, and generally, nothing is off-limits. And that’s just fine with Bieber, who apparently was pushing for the mockery to happen. “Justin has been asking us for years to roast him,” says Comedy Central content and programming president Kent Alterman, “so we kept telling him to create some more material and we’re thrilled he listened.”
Indeed, we’re less than a month into 2015, and Bieber has already provided fodder with his controversial Calvin Klein ads, which were just spoofed on “Saturday Night Live.” As Gossip Cop reported, the star proved he was a good sport, tweeting on Monday, “@nbcsnl well played. Lol.” And when Complex seemed taken aback by Bieber’s praise, he replied, “Why is that a surprise? It was funny :)”
Of course, many people find other things about Bieber funny, from his hair styles and self-professed “swag” to his music, love life, and run-ins with the law. It’ll all be fair game on the Comedy Central special. Previous roast victims include Charlie Sheen, Donald Trump, Roseanne Barr. and, most recently, James Franco. The new edition will tape in Los Angeles on March 7 and air at a later date that’s still to be announced. What do you think of Bieber getting roasted?
