Ellen DeGeneres Puts Herself In George Clooney’s Golden Globes Speech (VIDEO)

Ellen DeGeneres George Clooney Golden Globes Speech

(Ellen DeGeneres Show)

Ellen DeGeneres mocked on her Tuesday show the touching acceptance speech George Clooney gave at Sunday’s Golden Globes when he thanked his new bride Amal after receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award (video below). The talk show host said on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” that she thought his speech was “amazing,” but “it did not end the way that I thought it would.” DeGeneres then played the speech, which featured her superimposed into the footage, all dressed up and guzzling champagne while seated next to Amal.

As Clooney said during his speech, “It’s a humbling thing when you find someone to love. Even better when you’ve been waiting your whole life, and when your whole life is 53 years,” DeGeneres began to act humble and blush. But when Clooney added, “Amal,” DeGeneres spat out her champagne and exclaimed, “Amal?!” While the actor continued to praise his wife, saying, “I couldn’t be more proud to be your husband,” DeGeneres pretended to be gracious while she swilled more champagne.

After the hilarious clip aired, DeGeneres told the studio audience, “I don’t know why they sat me next to her or why I was wearing a dress.” Check out the video below from DeGeneres’ spoof of Clooney’s speech and tell us what you think.
