Lifetime
'Lizzie Borden Took an Ax'
Christina Ricci reprises the role of notorious (alleged!) ax murderer Lizzie Borden in a new Lifetime limited series — and since the telepic that prompted the project exhausted the history of the subject, the new iteration is going in a completely different direction.
"This is just a fictionalized version of what happens after the trial as she continues to misbehave," Ricci told reporters at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Friday. "It's just fun."

Lifetime upped the episode order for The Lizzie Borden Chronicles to eight — not surprising if you recall the 4.4 million who tuned into the TV movie premiere last January.
"The movie was pretty historically accurate... this was actually an exciting evolution to turn it into a 'what if?'" said director Stephen Kay. "I think you could call it a horror story or historical fiction. It's what would happen if you let this woman loose on a community."
There's no word on body count, but the cast did imply that Borden would be killing people off on a fairly regular basis. Borden, who got laughs when she explained "she doesn't always use an ax," made several comparisons to Dexter.
"You're rooting for her, but there are moments that are just so horrifying, you can't believe you like this person."
