Nicole Kidman says she and Jimmy Fallon had a date that was such a disaster, she left thinking he was gay. Fallon says he and Kidman had an awkward business meeting. Those conflicting accounts were hilariously told on Tuesday’s “Tonight Show.” Check out the video below!

Fallon gave his version of events first, saying that “years ago,” he was “walking down the street in New York City, and my friend Rick calls me and says, ‘Dude what are you doing?’… He goes, ‘I have Nicole Kidman with me and she wants to meet you to be in Bewitched or something like that. I can be in your apartment in like 10 minutes.’ I go, ‘You’re going to bring Nicole Kidman over to my apartment? Okay. What do I do?'”

Kidman then picked up the story, recalling, “I just remember I liked you… Our mutual friend was like, ‘Jimmy really wants to meet you. You can go over to his apartment.’ I’m single and I’m like, ‘Okay, yeah, cool!'” At this point, Fallon was blown away that the Oscar winner had viewed the last-minute get-together as something potentially romantic. “Did I date Nicole Kidman?!” he asked dumbfounded.

Well, not exactly. The actress explained, “I go over and you’re there in a baseball cap and, like, nothing. You wouldn’t talk. You didn’t say anything. You were like, ‘Hey, mmm, mmm, mmm!… Then you put a video game on or something and I was like, ‘This is so bad!’ I swear! And you didn’t talk at all. So, after about an hour and I half I thought, ‘He has no interest, this is so embarrassing.’ So, I left, and went, ‘Okay, no chemistry.’ And then I was like, ‘Maybe he’s gay!'”

A mortified Fallon then switched seats with Kidman, jokingly pretending to be in a therapy session with his doctor. They then had this amazing exchange: “We weren’t meant to be, right?” said Kidman. Fallon replied, “Wow, did you make a good decision! I am in shock right now. I can’t believe I dated Nicole Kidman.” “You didn’t!” “This is unbelievable! This is unbelievable! It was one of the most awkward moments ever.”

Fallon, who, like the movie star, is now married with kids, went on to tell Kidman, “You made a much better decision. Keith Urban is so much cooler than I am,” but remained distracted by their failed love connection for the rest of the segment. The late-night host, who hadn’t seen Kidman since that fateful encounter, was now (hysterically) hung up on their “sexual chemistry.” Watch the epic 9-minute video below!
