What’s the only thing better than Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan rapping Run-D.M.C.’s “Christmas In Hollis”? How about Dwayne Johnson singing “Here Comes Santa Claus” like Elvis? Wednesday’s “Live with Kelly and Michael” gave viewers both. Watch the video below!
The show’s “Christmas Karaoke Smackdown” challenge may not have been as explosive as some of Johnson’s WWE and action movie highlights, but it was every bit as exciting. Strahan and Ripa got things started with their rap, an amusing holiday gift since we never thought we’d hear classic Run-D.M.C. lyrics coming from Ripa’s mouth.
After a break, Johnson took center stage (in a festive onesie) to belt out his own Christmas karaoke. For anyone who hasn’t heard Johnson sing before… he’s pretty good! At one point, the movie star declared, “You know what? I think we gotta slap a little bit more Elvis on this.” And he did. Later, the “real” Santa Claus made an appearance, delighting the already delighted studio audience.
