Jessica and Ashlee Simpson’s husbands have not put a “wedge” in the sisters’ relationship, despite a new report that claims they barely talk these days because Jessica’s husband Eric Johnson never hit it off with Ashlee’s spouse Evan Ross. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this ridiculous story from Star, an outlet that has a long history of fabricating false drama between the two sisters.
According to the supermarket tabloid, Jessica and Ashlee’s relationship has taken “a backseat to marriage” and the siblings “barely talk” anymore. A so-called “friend” tells the magazine that Johnson has nothing in common with Ross, noting that the former football player “just talks about golf” while Diana Ross’ son is into music.
Other than stating the two men have different interests, Star offers no other explanation as so why this would cause problems between Jessica and Ashlee. Of course, this is the same outlet that has previously tried to wrongly create a “wedge” between the Simpson sister, where none exists. In the past, Star has falsely claimed Jessica was upset with Ashlee’s “plastic surgery habit” and inaccurately alleged that Jessica was sick of financially supporting Ashlee. There was also a bogus Star story about Johnson supposedly “checking out” Ashlee on a family vacation.
Johnson and Ross have no problems hanging out with one another, and Jessica and Ashlee are not choosing marriage over sisterhood. The two couples were just photographed hanging out together at the The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 premiere after-party in Los Angeles in November. Regardless, a source close to the couples tells Gossip Cop exclusively that this story is completely false.
