Has “American Idol” already found its Astro?
In the 11th season’s premiere on Thursday, the show’s very first contestant seemed eerily similar to the former “X Factor” contestant.
Seventeen-year-old David Leathers Jr. brought some of the bravado and cockiness that made Astro one of the most controversial “X Factor” contestants.
Leathers even revealed he has a way with the ladies, admitting his nickname is Mr. Steal Yo Girl – which quickly became a trending topic on Twitter.

But the judges were impressed by Leathers’ performance – which, unlike Astro’s signature rapping, entailed straight crooning of Century 21′s “Remember The Rain” – and gave him a ticket to Hollywood.
