Sean Penn and Charlize Theron are NOT “on the rocks,” despite yet another wrong tabloid rumor. Gossip Cop can bust the story, which appeared in OK!, an outlet that once wrongly claimed Keanu Reeves was “heartbroken” over the Oscar winners’ romance.
According to the magazine, Penn and Theron’s relationship has “gotten so cold, sources say [they're] headed for a breakup.” OK! says the problem is that Penn “feels suffocated” by Theron. “Sean’s getting bored, and his eye is beginning to wander,” explains a so-called “insider” for the tabloid. “He wants to roam the world and live day to day, while Charlize wants to settle down in L.A. and get married.”
OK! alleges that the couple’s summer together in South Africa, where they collaborated on a movie called The Last Face, supposedly “put a huge strain on the relationship, and things didn’t improve when they arrived back in L.A.”
We’re not sure why the tabloids decided to spout bogus rumors about Penn and Theron this week, but it happened. There was a completely off-base report about Penn stepping out with a mystery lady (Gossip Cop confirmed that it was actually Theron), and a bizarre story about Jennifer Aniston angering Theron during dinner by reminiscing with Penn (Gossip Cop busted that, too). There’s no truth to this “on the rocks” story in OK!, either. A source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop it’s “100 percent false.”
