Blunt Talk is a character-driven comedy revolving around Walter Blunt (Patrick Stewart), a British transplant intent on conquering the world of American cable news. Through the platform of his nightly interview show, Blunt is on a mission to impart his wisdom and guidance on how Americans should live, think and behave. Besieged by network bosses, a dysfunctional news staff, numerous ex-wives and children of all ages, Blunt’s only supporter is the alcoholic manservant he brought with him from the U.K. to join him in Los Angeles. The series follows the fallout from Blunt’s well-intentioned, but mostly misguided decision-making, both on and off the air.

Sharp will play Jim, the head writer for Blunt's show. The character is described as wildly smart, combustible and deeply insecure. He's single but always on the make. He has strange hobbies, passions and is a hoarder and isn't afraid to stand up to Walter but is prone to crumbling quickly.

Sharp starred as Dougie on HBO's critical darling Enlightened. His credits include a regular role on Fox's 'Til Death and features Fun With Dick and Jane and Imagine That. He's repped by UTA and Brillstein.

The 10-episode comedy, from Media Rights Capital, is due in 2015. Starz picked up the comedy, written by Bored to Death's Ames and produced by MacFarlane, straight to series with a 20-episode order to be split over two seasons.
