The Black Canary has arrived on "Arrow."
Three seasons into The CW series, Katie Cassidy's character, Laurel Lance, is finally taking on the moniker fans had been hoping for since the show was announced.
It's a move spawned by the death of Laurel's sister – Sara Lance, who was Canary.

In last week's episode, as Laurel began her training with Ted Grant, she gave a little nod to her title as she picked the black gi to train in.
Back before the show first premiered, Katie had high hopes that one day, her lawyer character would become the crime fighter/vigilante.

"Yeah. That would be awesome," Katie told Access Hollywood back in 2012. "Doing like an action film or TV has always been something that I wanted to get involved with and this is a really good opportunity and we'll see if it happens."
And now it has!
"Arrow" continues Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
