Dean McDermott is quitting “True Tori,” his emotionally-charged reality series with wife Tori Spelling. He revealed his decision in an interview on Wednesday’s “Access Hollywood Live.”

“I’m not going to continue with the show,” McDermott said of “True Tori.” “We have five more shows left, I’m going to fulfill my commitment. But it got around the vasectomy conversation where I got to the point where…  I can’t do this anymore. I can’t keep opening a vein, and opening my soul and sharing my feelings and thoughts and demons with the world. I want my privacy back.”

He acknowledged that it’s “what he signed up for,” but says he can no longer participate. “I don’t watch it… I can’t.” McDermott explained that reliving the couple’s most painful moments when it airs sets back much of the progress he and Spelling have made. Will their union survive? “I love this woman, regardless of what I’ve done. I love her and want to be with her,” said McDermott.

Elsewhere in the expansive and revealing interview, McDermott talks about Spelling’s recent hospitalization, their relationship with her mom Candy, his past struggle with suicidal thoughts, and the infidelity scandal at the heart of “True Tori.” It’s worth watching.
