Jon Stewart had some harsh words for the Democratic Party during his live midterm elections special.
"It's a blood bath out there. Were you surprised that the Democrats' strategy seemed to be … curling up in a ball and hoping you didn't kick them in the face too hard?" he asked Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus.

The Daily Show Host also hit Republicans, asking Priebus if Republicans would be able to accomplish anything after taking the U.S. Senate.
"Are you excited about governing again? For six years they've been in an position of trying to stop anything. Is it going to be hard to stop that? Is it going to be hard to do things?" he asked.
He also addressed controversy that came up earlier in the day, when he told CNN's Christiane Amanpour that he hadn't voted, becuase he was in the process of moving states. on The Daily Show, Stewart said he was joking and apologized for making light of voting.
On The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert waxed philosophical about it being his final live elections special.
"As you know, I am going off the air next month to preserve my dream of never covering the midterms again," he said.

Colbert went on to mock some of the special election technology the cable networks are so fond of, and introduced his own take on that: Stephen Colbert's Mountains of Midterm Madness, which was basically a giant caldron he used to summon a demon. The demon was supposed to be able to predict elections, however it said the race Colbert asked about was too close to call.
"Seriously? I just sold my soul to the dark lord for all eternity and all I get is 'it's too close to call?' "
Colbert, who is leaving The Colbert Report Dec. 18, gave a mock farewell to viewers, pretending that he believed this was his final show.
"Counting my time on The Daily Show Show with John Daily and the Daily Zoo Crew, I've been getting together with you like this since 2000. Who can forget that one? Bush v Chad," he told viewers while seated from a leather chair. "I have so many memories. Mostly shapes and colors. There was a fair amount of drinking along the way."
