More sordid details of June Shannon’s relationship with convicted sex offender Mark McDaniel are emerging, casting a new spotlight on the demise of her relationship with Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson and the safety of her children.
As Gossip Cop reported, Shannon and Thompson were reported to have split in September amid allegations that she caught him trolling internet dating sites. Thompson, the father of Shannon’s famous daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, strongly denied cheating.
It’s now a month later, and Shannon is apparently in a relationship with McDaniel, the same man who went to prison for 10 years for forcing Shannon’s own daughter, Anna, then 8 years old, to perform oral sex on him while he was dating the “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” matriarch. Even though Shannon has attempted to deny she and McDaniel are dating again, evidence increasingly suggests otherwise.
Now TMZ says the renewed romance has actually been going on for longer than previously thought. According to the site, while Shannon and McDaniels originally dated before she ever got together with Thompson, their emotional connection loomed large over her relationship with Sugar Bear. The reality TV star reportedly kept a box of mementos from her time with McDaniels, much to Thompson’s chagrin. The pair also fought repeatedly over the issue, says TMZ, with Thompson accusing his Shannon of keeping up an emotional relationship with McDaniels.
And when McDaniels was released from prison last March, he and Shannon resumed seeing each other, despite the fact that she was still with Thompson, says TMZ. The outlet further claims that family members now believe Shannon concocted the story of Thompson straying through online dating sites in order to have an excuse for leaving the relationship when she was actually the one who was cheating.
Since then, Shannon and McDaniels have been photographed together on multiple occasions. And, disturbingly, one photo, reportedly taken in September before the split with Thompson was announced, shows McDaniel with his hand on Alana’s shoulder. It’s unfathomable that Shannon would allow a man who already molested one of her children to now be around another of her kids. Sadly, that appears to be exactly what’s happening.
Shannon’s victimized daughter Anna has since done an interview revealing that her mother didn’t believe her all those years ago when she revealed McDaniels molested her. The authorities obviously did, and now Gossip Cop sincerely hopes Child Services investigates again for the well-being of her other children.
