Thanos is coming.
Disney XD's animated series Marvel's Avengers Assemble returns for a second season this weekend and The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive first look at the impending arrival of the warlord.
In the battle scene from the premiere, titled "The Arsenal," Red Skull crashes into Earth with a fleet of alien ships in hot pursuit. When the Avengers learn that a far more powerful villain threatens to cause even more trouble, they start to enact a Plan B.
When the new season picks up, the Avengers travel to new heights when they are challenged by Thanos and his mission to retrieve the Infinity Stones, threatening to destroy them. Avengers Assemble will also feature appearances by several characters that will be seen on the big screen next year: Ant-Man (out July 17) and Ultron, the main villain in The Avengers: Age of Ultron (out May 1).
Marvel's Avengers Assemble returns at 8:30 p.m. Sunday on Disney XD.
