George Clooney is 100 percent paying for his own wedding to Amal Alamuddin in Venice, Italy, despite widespread claims that the bride’s family is picking up the tab, Gossip Cop has learned exclusively.
The story originated with Us Weekly and then was picked up by a slew of other lemmings, including the New York Daily News.
The weekly tabloid magazine had a so-called source say Alamuddin’s family is “paying for most of it,” but Gossip Cop has learned that is entirely untrue.
Alamuddin’s parents aren’t paying a dime. Claims that they’re shelling out for the successful star’s wedding are “simply not the case,” an insider assures Gossip Cop.
The Oscar-winner, we’re told is more than happy to pay for his wedding, and is not burdening his future mother-in-law, a journalist, or his future father-in-law, a retired professor.
As Gossip Cop recently reported, Clooney last week openly professed his love for Alamuddin at a charity event, saying, “I love you very much, and I can’t wait to be your husband.”
