A moving moment for Miranda Lambert. The country singer, 30, was performing this past weekend, when she had a touching interaction with a fan in the middle of her show.
Lambert made one of the final stops of the first leg of her Platinum Tour in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Saturday, Sept. 13, playing to a packed crowd at the city's American Bank Center.
At one point during the gig, Lambert played her emotional 2012 single "Over You." Dressed casually in ripped jeans and a sleeveless shirt, Lambert walked the stage as she sang, accepting a bouquet of flowers from one fan, until she found a 7-year-old girl named Brooke Hester.

Hester, who has been battling a form of cancer called neuroblastoma that usually affects children and infants, caught Lambert's eye with her bright pink cowboy hat. She was also wearing a matching pink outfit and a face mask to protect herself.
Blake Shelton's wife made her way over to the young girl, accepting a token from her before putting the gift and the bouquet of flowers down on the stage. Lambert then reached for Hester's hand, holding it as she sang to her.

The Grammy winner got emotional as she serenaded her ill fan, struggling to keep her composure and continue singing. She looked to the audience for support, holding her microphone out to her fans to finish the performance, as she wiped tears from her eyes.

The encounter was a special moment for all involved. Hester's mother, Jessica Hester, spoke to the Today show's website on Wednesday, Sept. 17, about her daughter's connection to Lambert.
"It was very emotional and very special," she told Today.com. "It just took my breath away when I looked up, and I got the chance to look at Miranda Lambert and thank her, as she was holding Brooke’s hand, for her complete compassion that she was demonstrating to my daughter in front of all these people. And then I just kept thinking, 'Oh, my gosh, she's still holding her hand, she's still holding her hand, she's still holding her hand!' And she wasn't letting go. You could just feel the love surrounding the moment."
Brooke chimed in during the interview, saying that she thought Lambert was "really cool," and her father, Beau Hester, added of the singer, "What an amazing moment, and what a truly caring person. That kind of moment is so genuine."
