What would the Dowager Countess have to say about George Clooney and his many years of bachelordom? We may soon find out.

The actor will appear in a short Downton Abbey-related film set to air during the holiday season on U.K. network ITV, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. ITV is the regular U.K. home for Downton episodes.

The film is part of ITV's annual Text Santa campaign that raises money for six U.K. charities. Clooney's role in the film has not yet been revealed.

Downton Abbey has seen a number of Hollywood stars make appearances over the years, including Shirley MacLaine (Martha Levinson) and Paul Giamatti (Harold Levinson).

The series' fifth season premieres later this month across the pond and begins stateside on PBS on Jan. 4, 2015.
