Before a commercial break, the Emmys threw to a random clip package of Julia Roberts' nominated work in HBO's The Normal Heart and she was just as pressed as we all were to comprehend the reason for its existence.
But we all know it's because she's a movie star and the Emmys can't help but turn into the dorky girl who gets invited to sit at the cool kids table when movie stars are around.
Although, in the end, that didn't help Roberts win. That honor went to Kathy Bates for American Horror Story: Coven.
