Enchanted by the endless possibilities! Taylor Swift announced the title of her upcoming album on Monday, Aug. 18, and it is... 1989!
Since Aug. 4, the 24-year-old songstress has uploaded several clues about the special livestream to Yahoo at 5 p.m. on Aug. 18. The event, which took place in NYC, was a platform for Swift to perform her new single, "Shake It Off," and announce her upcoming album 1989.
"I woke up every single day not wanting but needing to make a new style of music that I had never made before," Swift told fans after performing her fun single. "We made the most sonically-cohesive album I'd ever made. We made my favorite album I've ever made."
"I was listening to a lot of late '80s pop.. so being inspired by that, I started delving into the late '80s," Swift continued. "It was apparently a time of limitless potential… be who you want, wear what you want, do what you want." She added, "The idea of that was so inspiring to me."
"This new album was a rebirth for me, it's so new… and having been born on December 13, 1989, this album is called, '1989.'"
The star added that this will be her "first documented official pop album." 1989 will hit stores Oct. 27, but fans can preorder the album now on Swift's website.

Her pop-y new single "Shake It Off" was cowritten with Max Martin and Shellback (with whom she's worked on hits like "We Are Never Getting Back Together" and "I Knew You Were Trouble" from her last album, Red). "I've been working on a new album for two years," Swift said. "I feel like two years gives you two years to grow and to live."
During the event, Swift also shared her new music video for "Shake It Off," which features the star in various unique and crazy costumes.

Back in 2010, Swift hosted another livestream ahead of the release of her third studio album, Speak Now. The hour-long event included a Q&A between the singer and her fans, as well as a performance of three songs from Swift's new record.
