[WARNING: Spoilers ahead from Thursday's live double eviction episode of Big Brother.]
Within 24 hours, everything changed for the first member of the Big Brother jury.
Jocasta Odom, the 33-year-old married mother and minister from Lovejoy, Ga., was the victim of an 11th-hour flip by The Hitmen, Derrick Levasseur and Cody Calafiore, a move made to keep the numbers in their favor. Prior to the Wednesday script flip, all was going according to The Rationale's plan: By Thursday night, Rance would be in jury and the newly formed group — consisting of Lavasseur, Calafiore, Hayden Voss (eliminated later that evening) and Nicole Franzel — would set their sights on their next victim. All that changed when The Hitmen opted to control the votes, saving the fiery and unpredictable Zach Rance a second time and evicting Odom with a 6-2 vote as a result. Surprisingly Odom — a regular on the nomination block — wasn't at all shocked by her ouster on double-eviction night after failing to ensure her own safety by winning competitions.
Because the nine-person jury has now begun, evicted houseguests will be answering questions via email for The Hollywood Reporter following their evictions Friday morning. And because the game hasn't officially ended for them — Julie Chen hinted a jury member may return to the game — questions will only be centered on conversations, alliances and events they were privy to. In her exit interview for THR, Odom answers 10 questions about her eviction and who she's gunning for.
You seemed to handle your eviction in stride. Were you shocked?
No, I was not shocked.
What do you think led to your eviction?
I think when I got nervous and lost the HOH last Thursday, that lead to my eviction. I needed to save myself.
Was there anything you could have done or said to extend your stay inside the house?
No.
You were on the block four times. Was there one particular week where you most feared for your safety?
No.
Why do you think you were consistently used as a pawn?
People thought, "Oh, she only won one competition. It’s no big deal. Let’s put her up to get everyone else out."
Julie hinted that there was a chance you would be able to return to the game. Who would be your No. 1 target should that opportunity arise?
Frankie would be my No. 1 target.
How would you change your strategy if you went back into the house?
I would change my strategy if I went back into the house. I promised my mom I would not lie the first time I went into the house. However, not the second! I am coming back like a beast!
Who do you think is in the best/worst position in the house and why?
Best: Manipulative Christine might be in the best position. Worst: Maybe Frankie. Although he is liked, he should be a main target.
Who do you want to see walk into that jury house next?
I would like to see Caleb or Frankie evicted, but I don’t want either one of them around me in jury!
