MTV's college network mtvU has revealed the nominations for the first Fandom Awards taking place at San Diego's Comic-Con.
The Fandom of the Year award will be given out across four genres — movies, TV dramas, TV comedies and animation — and the winners will be decided through bracket-style voting, with the awards handed out Thursday, July 24, at Petco Park. (MTV's first Fan Fest also takes place that day.)

While many of the 32 nominees have Comic-Con ties (i.e. Captain America, X-Men, Game of Thrones, Teen Wolf), there are some that simply don't fit the mold (i.e. The Fault in Our Stars, Pretty Little Liars, New Girl, Awkward).
The Best Fandom Forever Award (BFF) highlights the top Tumblr "fandoms," with the winner determined by the largest "note" count on a MTV-created Tumblr post. Voting ends Wednesday, July 23.
As previously announced, Linkin Park will headline the event, while hip-hop artist G-Eazy also is set to perform.
MTVu will air an hourlong special Sunday, July 27, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, highlighting the best moments and performances and taped appearances by Hugh Jackman, Aaron Paul, Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Dylan O'Brien, Holland Roden and Kat Graham. Eric Conte and Ryan Kroft are executive producers of the mtvU Fandom Awards.
