Ryan Lewis just doesn't get the "Same Love" from fans as his recording partner Macklemore does.
The Seattle-based hip-hop producer, 26, had some fun on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon this week, poking fun at himself for his lack of notoriety or recognition.

"Everyone knows who Macklemore is, but not many people know who Ryan Lewis is, or even what he does," Fallon explained. "In fact, a lot of self-proclaimed hip-hop fans wouldn't even recognize Ryan Lewis if they were standing right next to him and talking to him—which is why we sent Ryan Lewis himself, no disguise, out to the streets of New York to ask people what they know about Ryan Lewis."
Wearing a pair of oversized frames, a checkered shirt and a denim vest, Lewis stopped people on the street to talk about himself and Macklemore.

In the video, Lewis is not recognized by a single pedestrian until he holds up a photo of himself with Macklemore near his face and allows the viewer time to make the connection.
The music maker takes it in stride, laughing and smiling as New Yorkers mostly tell him that they don't know what Lewis does and that they like Macklemore better.
