Justin Bieber apologized for accidentally honoring former Japanese military leaders who were responsible for the slaughter of Chinese during World War II.
Earlier in the week, after visiting the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo, Bieber tweeted, “Thank you for your blessings,” believing the attractive shrine was a holy place.
Thankfully, someone clued in the young singer about the history of some of the notorious, convicted war criminals honored there.
On Wednesday, Bieber — who deleted his photo of Yasukuni Shrine — tweeted, “While in Japan I asked my driver to pull over for which I saw a beautiful shrine. I was mislead to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer. To anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry. I love you China and I love you Japan.”
