‘Arrow’: Oliver Discovers a Mirakuru Twist (Exclusive Video)

Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) world may be unraveling on Arrow, but not everything in Starling City is doom and gloom.

Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett) and Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) are victims, to varying degrees, of the powerful Mirakuru serum – the former five years running, the latter mere weeks. But as island Oliver discovers in a scene exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter from this week's episode, "The Man Under the Hood," there may be a way out -- courtesy of Dr. Ivo (Dylan Neal).

'Please, I can help you," an injured Ivo pleads to Oliver and Co., which includes Anatoli Knyazev (David Nykl), in his attempt to spare his life. When Anatoli isn't feeling particularly sympathetic to Ivo's appeals, Ivo pulls out one last card. "You can still stop Slade Wilson!" That spawns Oliver's interest almost instantly.

As Oliver, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) and Anatoli understand it, once someone has been injected with the Mirakuru, there's no turning back. Turns out, Ivo wasn't entirely forthcoming with the details of the serum in the first place. "I can turn him back," Ivo says, the "him" referring to Slade. Oliver demands a clearer answer: "Ivo, what are you saying?"

"The Mirakuru ... there's a cure." Is Ivo bluffing? Watch the scene above and weigh in below.

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
