A+E Networks Orders ‘Married at First Sight’ Extreme Social Experiment Series (Exclusive)

A+E Networks is trying its hand at an extreme social experiment.

In a bid to cut through in a crowded unscripted landscape, the company has ordered a new reality series, Married at First Sight, which will center on six brave souls who agree to legally marry the moment they first meet. Production is set to begin immediately on 10 one-hour episodes to air later in 2014. A decision has not been made with regard to which network in the A+E cable portfolio the series will air.

Marriedan adaptation of a hit Danish format, will also include four specialists who will create what they believe are three perfect couples based on scientific matchmaking. The first meeting for these couples, each comprised of people who've had no prior luck in the love department, will be as they walk down the aisle.
