‘Justified’ Alum Boards TNT’s ‘Legends’ (Exclusive)

Justified alum David Meunier has booked a new gig.

After being killed off the FX drama last season, the actor has landed a major arc on TNT's upcoming drama Legends, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

From Homeland executive producer Howard Gordon, Legends -- which originally was developed for NBC -- follows deep-cover operative Martin Odum (Game of Thrones' Sean Bean), who has an uncanny ability to transform himself into a different person for each job. But his own identity comes into question when a mysterious stranger suggests that Martin isn’t who he thinks he is.

Meunier will play Richard Hubbard, a high school chemistry teacher and family man who leads a quiet life with his wife and daughter. But when he and his family are abducted by gunmen, the shocking secret of his past is revealed, much to the dismay of his loved ones.

The actor had a multiple-season recurring role on FX's Justified that came to an end when his character, Johnny Crowder, was killed off last season. His credits also include arcs on Revolution, Jericho and episodes of Scandal, The Bridge and Nikita.

Meunier, who also recently signed with Resolution, continues to be managed by Justice & Ponder. He next has features The Equalizer and The Secret Police.

He joins a Legends cast that includes Ali Larter, Rob Mayes, Tina Majorino, Steve Harris, Amber Valletta, Lux Haney Jardine and Morris Chestnut.

Gordon, Jeffrey Nachmanoff (The Day After Tomorrow), Alexander Cary (Homeland) and Jonathan Levin (Charmed) developed the project based on the book from spy novelist Robert Littell. David Semel will direct and executive produce the Fox 21 project. Emmy nominees Ethan Reiff and Cy Voris (Sleeper Cell) will serve as showrunners and exec produce.

Legends premieres Aug. 20 at 9 p.m. on TNT.
