Four members of the Happy Endings family are getting the band back together.
Creator David Caspe is teaming with writers (and brothers) Matthew and Daniel Libman for single-camera comedy pilot Duty, starring Happy Endings alum Gil Ozeri, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

From Happy Endings producer Sony Pictures Television, the comedy centers on Kyle (Mike O'Gorman, The Awesomes, Ugly Americans), a former football star who loses everything and is forced to start anew by moving back to his hometown and taking a job on the local police force opposite his childhood best friend, Lonnie (Ozeri). Laura Steinel (Draft Day) will play Jamie, Kyle's former flame.
Brothers Matthew and Daniel Libman will pen the script and co-executive produce the pilot, which hails from Happy Endings studio Sony Pictures Television -- where Caspe's Shark v. Bear banner is under an overall deal. Fanfare's Jamie Tarses, who also worked with the trio on ABC's short-lived cult comedy, is also on board to exec produce.
The Libman brothers, both former writers on Happy Endings and writing partners, are longtime friends with Capse and grew up with the creator of the cult comedy outside of Chicago. The Libmans' credits also include Metalocalypse and Robot Chicken. For his part, Ozeri was a writer on Happy Endings and is teaming with star Adam Pally for a comedy set up Disney. (Ozeri and Pally met more than 10 years ago writing and performing together at the Upright Citizen's Brigade theater in New York. Ozeri is currently a writer on Fox's Brooklyn Nine-Nine.)

Duty marks Caspe's third pilot order this season. In addition to the Comedy Central entry, he's writing and exec producing CBS' Geoff Stults-starrer Cuz-Bros and NBC's Marry Me, the latter of which stars Happy Endings alum and Caspe's finance, Casey Wilson.
The Happy Endings cast and producers have become pilot season's hottest "get" this year, with all of its stars having signed on to new projects. EP Jonathan Groff also signed on to run NBC's comedy Fifth Wheel, which was pushed off cycle.
