Drew Barrymore’s ‘Animal’ Debuts Terrifying First Trailer (Exclusive Video)

Fear lives in the dark: The blood-pumping first trailer for Drew Barrymore's horror film, Animal, has hit the web.

Animal, which airs later this year on NBCUniversal-owned Chiller after a limited theatrical and VOD run, follows a group of close-knit friends who find themselves stranded in unfamiliar territory, pursued by a blood-thirsty predator. Holed up in isolated cabin, tensions mount as secrets are revealed. As the body count rises, the group puts their differences aside and fights for survival.

STORY: Drew Barrymore's 'Animal' Sets Ensemble Cast

In the minute-long teaser exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter, four friends race through the woods in the dead of night, being chased by said blood-thirsty predator. There's no real indication of what's going on, except for exasperated yells of "Keep going!" -- that enough gives you the sense that they are in grave danger. The predator that's hunting them remains unseen. Instead you hear the monster in the opening seconds and in the closing moments, when it takes one of the four as its latest victim (hello, Eve!).

Keke Palmer, Amaury Nolasco, Parker Young, Joey Lauren Adams, Elizabeth Gillies, Paul IaconoThorsten Kaye and Jeremy Sumpter also star.

Barrymore is an executive producer alongside Flower Films' Nancy Juvonen, and producers Chris Miller, Ember Truesdell, Kelly Smith and Thommy Hutson. Hutson and Catherine Trillo penned the script and is directed by Brett Simmons. Gary J. Tunnicliffe created the creature effects.
