The Voice topped its second night in a row, down a bit from last spring's Tuesday opener on NBC -- thanks to a move to the 8 p.m. hour. With an average 3.7 rating among adults 18-49 and 13 million viewers, the series dropped four-tenths of a point in the key demo but improved by more than half of a million viewers.
Using the strong hour as a launch pad for its new comedies, About a Boy (2.4 adults) and Growing Up Fisher (2.0 adults) aired repeats of the past weekend's post-Olympic specials. About a Boy improved in its second showing, up two-tenths of a point, while Growing Up Fisher held even. At 10 p.m., a new Chicago Fire (1.8 adults) was also steady. NBC averaged a 2.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 9.3 million viewers for the night.

CBS locked a win among total viewers (13.6 million), but all three of its procedurals slid in the demo. NCIS (2.6 adults) dropped half of a point, while NCIS: LA (2.2 adults) shed six-tenths. Person of Interest (1.7 adults) was down four-tenths, giving the network a nightly score of a 2.2 rating.
With a special two-hour The Bachelor taking the place of Agents of SHIELD and its Tuesday comedies, ABC had a stronger-than-usual lead-in for the premiere of Mind Games. And while, at a 1.1 rating with adults 18-49, the drama was up two-tenths of a point from the latest debut in the hour, it marks the third dangerously low drama to hit the network's 10 p.m. slot this season -- following Lucky 7 and Killer Women, The Bachelor (2.4 adults) lost only a tenth of a point from Monday, giving ABC a 2.0 rating and 6.6 million viewers for the night.
The new block of Glee (returned to its old time slot), New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine saw each series improve a tenth of a point from its last showing. Glee (1.2 adults), which moved from Thursday, did not bring a stronger lead-in to New Girl (1.4 adults) and Brooklyn Nine-Nine (1.3 adults). The duo barely improved from their lows against the Olympics two weeks ago.
On the CW, The Originals (0.8 adults) was down a tenth of a point from its last new episode. Supernatural (1.1 adults), the night's only broadcast series to show any growth, improved a tenth of a point.
