‘Parks and Rec’ Season 7 Likely as Amy Poehler Inks Overall Deal, Lands Comedy Pilot Order

NBC is expanding its relationship with Amy Poehler

The network has inked the newly minted Golden Globe winner to a three-year overall deal and greenlit a comedy pilot starring Orange Is the New Black's Natasha Lyonne.

The untitled comedy was co-created by the Parks and Recreation star who will also executive produce. Lyonne will star in the project known as Old Soul and play a woman trying to find herself who, in the meantime, is working as the aide to a group of elderly people.

The comedy hails from Universal Television, Paperkite Productions and 3 Arts. Poehler will exec produce alongside Dave Becky and Happy Endings duo Jon Fener and Josh Bycel, the latter two of whom will pen the script.

The pilot order caps a banner week for Poehler, who took home her first Golden Globe win for her starring role in NBC's critical darling Parks and Recreation. That series was one of only two comedies to return to NBC's lineup for the 2013-14 season. Globes host Poehler, with friend and former Saturday Night Live co-star Tina Fey, also are set to return to oversee the HFPA's big ceremony next year as well.
