She won a Golden Globe for her performance in Dancing on the Edge … then got very tripped up on stage. Apparently, she was thinking about her dinner? [Updated]
A lot of people in the audience were a little bit surprised when Jacqueline Bisset won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Comedy, Drama, Miniseries, or Movie... including Jacqueline Bisset herself.
Clearly, the actress — who won for her performance in the British 1930s Jazz-set series Dancing on the Edge — did not prepare much of a speech before the show, which led to a lot of stop-and-start improvising, and, ultimately, punctuating her frustrations with the can't-say-that-on-network-television "shit." Ironically, that word didn't get bleeped.
Big ups to her for ignoring the music when they tried to play her off, too.
Later, she explained the mishap while speaking to the press backstage, saying that she thought her category was going to be presented later in the night... and that she was hungry.
"I was completely out of it, I was thinking about my dinner," Bisset said. "And I still haven’t gotten my dinner yet."
