Lea Michele's "Cannonball" music video has finally arrived. The 27-year-old singer debuted the Robert Hales-directed clip for her debut single off her Louder album on Thursday, Jan. 9.
The emotional piece shows Michele looking lonely and vulnerable while singing passionately in an abandoned mansion. "I was scared to death I was losing my mind/ Break down/ I couldn't close my eyes I was pacing all night," she sings. "I think I found the light out the end of the tunnel/ I couldn't find the truth I was going under."

In the beginning of the video, the Glee actress wears an edgy black dress to match her dark mood. By the end, however, Michele changes into a white dress and sings in a room filled with bright lights.
"And now I will start living today/ Today, today I close the door," she sings. "I got this new beginning and I will fly/ I'll fly like a cannonball."

The singer told MTV News that "Cannonball" helped her cope with the tragic July death of boyfriend and Glee costar Cory Monteith. "The minute I heard the song, I had a physical reaction to it. For me, it's been my strength," she said. "I listen to it every day. I know it was brought into my life for a reason. It's really been so helpful for me and I hope it's the same for other people as it's been for me."
After the video premiered, Michele wrote a special thank-you on Twitter. "So thankful to everyone who helped me make my #CannonballMusicVideo and to all of you for watching . . . u all," she tweeted.
