CNN's chief business correspondent Christine Romans will be joining John Berman as co-anchor of the network's 5-6 a.m. newscast, Early Start, it was announced Monday.
Romans replaces Zoraida Sambolin, who announced she was leaving the network last month. Sambolin previously made headlines for her public fight with breast cancer.

"Given the audience’s interest in business news as the day begins, and markets across the globe have been open for hours, Christine will add a great dimension to the program that starts CNN’s programming day," Jeff Zucker, CNN worldwide president, said in a statement. "Plus, Christine’s fantastic rapport with John makes this a dynamic team for America to wake up to."
Romans will continue to serve as CNN's chief business reporter and anchor of CNN's business programs.
The cable news network also announced that Victor Blackwell and Christi Paul have been named co-anchors of the weekend edition of CNN's New Day morning show.

Victor has been sitting in this seat for many months now, and we are thrilled to make this role official, and excited to pair him with Christi.”
Blackwell joined CNN in August 2012 as an actor and correspondent. Paul is an anchor on CNN's sister network HLN.
