Jon Gosselin blasts Kate Gosselin in an extended new interview with Philadelphia magazine.
The reality star, who now lives in a cabin in Pennsylvania and works in a restaurant, lambasts his ex-wife while simultaneously claiming he’s not “out to get” her.
“I don’t give a f*ck!” he rants. “What would I get out of it? Everyone knows she’s an a**hole, you know what I mean? I don’t have to – she’s proven that!”
Gosselin continues, “Kate wants to still be on television. She’s now digging into the past, because that’s what sells. Too late, honey. No one gives a f*ck, really.”
The TV personality says he now views it as a “mistake” to have starred on the hit TLC series “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” and claims he is advocating for legislation that would make it more difficult to film minors.
Gosselin says his life is radically different now, particularly compared to his ex-spouse.
“I deleted [my Twitter account] last year. Best thing I ever did. I can disappear. Nobody knows where I am,” he says, claiming, Kate “tweets everything. To the world, all about my children.”
“I think it’s disgusting and awful. They can’t even have a normal life,” adds Gosselin.
Perhaps paradoxically, the dad of eight says he doesn’t want to be a “normal” person.
“Let’s use ‘ordinary,’” he tells the mag. “Ordinary is: I’m a f*ckin’ tax-paying, law-abiding citizen of Pennsylvania. That just happened to be on TV for five years. You know what I mean? That’s it.”
And though Gosselin will appear with his girlfriend of two years on VH1′s “Couples Therapy” next month, he says his time on reality TV and the tabloid obsession it led to ”has tarnished my good name.”
“The main thing the tabloids did was separate me from my brand. My brand was ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8.’ Now that I’m divorced? My new brand, because of the tabloids, is Jon Gosselin,” he explains.
He notes, “In 2009, I was on 52 covers. Most-photographed person in 2009,” and claims he’s since rejected “10 to 20″ reality TV offers, including “Dancing with the Stars” (on which Kate competed in 2010).
Gosselin is now focused on a personal and professional comeback, and believes living a quiet life is the first step.
He philosophizes, “Like, I always look at it like, if you’re in the woods, you take a path out of the woods. It doesn’t work? You come back in the woods, ’cause you’re comfortable. And then you figure out your sh*t — out of the woods again.”
“Everyone does it. CEOs lose their jobs, they go back in the woods, they think they hit rock bottom because their lifestyle changed. But in actuality, they go and invent sh*t. Like Steve Jobs. Or Bill Gates, or, you know what I mean?” he posits.
Gosselin continues, “Recession breeds innovation. So I just start thinking what I can do.”
As for pulling a gun on a paparazzi photographer who allegedly followed him home in September, he says he was well within his 2nd Amendment right to be packing heat.
“It is a great shot when I’m pulling out my weapon,” he also concedes.
