The Voice has arrived at the semifinals, with one singer left for Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera, competing against Adam Levine's unscathed team.
After the top five united for American Authors' "Best Day of My Life," they split for their live semifinal performances. With Cee Lo Green now out for the season, here's how they did:

Saved by the final Twitter vote last week, Levine's James Wolpert took on the tortured and moody "With or Without You" by U2. While Aguilera felt compelled to (only) share that she suggested that song for a coaches' performance, Shelton actually critiqued the performance: "Heck, you might have dug yourself out of a hole," he said. "That was really strong." However, if the Instant Save has taught us anything, it's that whoever is on the verge of going home one week is then sent packing the following week.
Levine then assigned Will Champlin to tackle the anthemic "Carry On" by fun., complete with a slowed introduction to make it his own. "It is really cool to see you feeling all 'swaggy' up there," said Green, praising his execution of the song, while Shelton was happy to see him smiling more onstage. (We wish we saw it even more, in fact!)
Aguilera asked Jacquie Lee to switch up her timbres on Sarah McLachlan's "Angel," opting not for the soft approach of the original, but more of a "power ballad" approach. "You did things I didn't know you were gonna do tonight," said Aguilera, while Green said this snapped him out of his funk. "Just when I think that I'm jaded – I don't have anyone to cheer for or support, and this reminds me, this all belongs to me."
After a grooming session alongside a supportive Green, Shelton listened to Cole Vosbury's suggestion perform Garth Brooks' rendition of Billy Joel's "Shameless," conquering the stage with more confidence this time around. "I think you just now figured out who you are," said Shelton, with Green echoing that praise.
Last but not least, Levine had Tessanne Chin go for Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water," full of dynamic range and an impossibly long final note that left the audience in cheers. Her coach mentioned that a few negative items were edited out of her package – a comment that almost triggered Chin's tears – but Shelton said that as opposing coach, he still echoed every praise Levine said.

With Tuesday night being another double elimination, the finals will be narrowed down to three singers – potentially, all of the same team. We wonder if Levine will escape the night unscathed once again.
