TV Ratings: Garth Brooks’ CBS Concert Tops Friday

CBS won the holiday weekend Friday with its two-hour Garth Brooks special. The singer's Live From Las Vegas averaged a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49, easily locking up broadcast TV's best showing of the night. Lead-in specials Hoops & Yoyo Ruin Christmas (0.4 adults) and The Elf on the Shelf (0.6 adults) were both down significantly from last year's showings. CBS took a 1.4 adults rating and 6.7 million viewers for the night.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1.5 adults) and Shrek the Halls (1.5 adults) also saw big year-to-year drops on ABC, as the specials moved from Tuesday to Friday. 20/20 (0.9 adults) was off seven-tenths from last week, giving ABC a 1.2 adults rating and 5.1 million viewers for the night.

 Dateline (1.2 adults) was up by a tenth of a point on NBC. Grimm (1.3 adults) shed three-tenths of a point from its last original, while Dracula (0.9 adults) held its most recent score. NBC took a 1.1 adults rating and 5.2 million viewers for the night.

After an encore of Bones, Fox aired back-to-back episodes of Raising Hope, each down two-tenths of a point for a 0.6 adults rating. Fox averaged a 0.6 rating with adults 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers.

Special Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer (0.4 adults) was slightly off from the previous year, while Nikita (0.2 adults) matched last week's return. The CW averaged a 0.3 adults rating and 1.1 million viewers.
