LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Lady Gaga continues to spread her “ARTPOP” message with the debut of a new film.
On Wednesday, the singer – whose new album landed at No. 1 – released “An ARTPOP Film,” which shows the 27-year-old singer in a variety of looks (many nude), hairstyles and numerous envelope-pushing getups.
“This album is a celebration, my pain exploding in electronic music,” Gaga says as the film begins. “It’s heavy but after I listen to it, I feel happy again. I feel lighter.”

In addition to seeing Gaga’s innovative style in the short film, the singer goes dark with a dirt-smeared face, tears, bruises, blood and an eerie toothy grill.
Gaga addressed some of the backlash surrounding her latest album.
“I put so much love into my music, into my shows, I make it all for you. I’ll never understand the overflow of hate sent my way,” she Tweeted on Wednesday. “Or maybe that’s what entertainment is now. It’s more fun to point & laugh than appreciate the artist. I’ll keep rehearsing my steps.”
