Kanye West dissed Zappos — and the company responded in a hilarious way.
During a recent podcast interview with Bret Easton Ellis, the rapper-genius called out the online retailer, explaining, “I got into this giant argument with the head of Zappos that he’s trying to tell me what I need to focus on.”
West continued, “Meanwhile, he sells all this sh*t product to everybody, his whole thing is based off of selling sh*t product.”
On Wednesday, Zappos struck back.
The company tweeted, “Kanye West says Zappos sells sh-t product. It’s true.”
Attached was a link to a special Zappos.com page featuring a very unique item — a plunger in a toilet, selling for $100,000 (see photo below).
“Interested in buying sh-t product? You’ve come to the right place! Here at Zappos.com, we happily sell sh-t products to everybody!” reads the description. “This is the throne, everyone has been watching. Whether you’re #1 or #2, your clique will show no mercy, even in Paris.”
The, um, cheeky description continues, describing the pricey item as “the perfect gift for the man that has everything.”
And what is the first product review on the listing?
“Yo Zappos! Imma let you finish… but this is the best Sh-t product of all time!”
