Britney Spears secretly “opposes gay marriage” and is hiding her opinion from fans, according to a false report in the National Enquirer.
The tabloid, which has been outrageously wrong about Spears in recent months, says it has “discovered” that the singer’s team is “desperate to keep her views on the hot-button topic under wraps.”
“She’s never been homophobic, but she doesn’t support gay marriage because the Bible is against it,” says a so-called “close source” for the Enquirer.
According to the magazine, Spears accidentally “leaked her potentially career-threatening opinion” during a recent Twitter interview in which she named Max Lucado, a preacher who has spoken against homosexuality, as her favorite author.
The Enquirer claims Spears’ admiration of Lucado and her churchgoing mean that she is opposed to same-sex marriage.
This is 100 percent inaccurate.
A source close to Spears tells us the Enquirer story is “totally off base” and “wrong.”
