LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- After rumors of a Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott sex tape surfaced, the actress stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Friday to explain what really happened.

“It was a moment more than a tape… well, it’s not a full movie. I call it a sex tape in the book just ‘cause I’m talking,” Tori told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover, referencing her sex tape anecdote in her new book, “Spelling It Like It Is.” “[In the book], I’m talking about being able to trust people in this town, and what I talk about is that on Valentine’s Day we did decide to make a little film, documenting our [love] just for us.

“My husband had it on our laptop at home and a friend was house-sitting that’s not a friend anymore and took it, [or at least] claimed to take it,” she explained.

Luckily, Tori said the tape was not made public, thanks to the help of their lawyers. Unfortunately, Tori also reveals past financial struggles in the book, setting the rumor mill ablaze with talk of the couple selling their intimate tape for monetary gain.

“Out of all the headlines that are coming out that I’m like, ‘No, no, read the story, read the book. It’s not what you’re thinking it is!’ I think that’s the one that’s the most hurtful,” she said, of the sex-tape-selling rumor. “I am a mom of four beautiful babies and two girls that I want to grow up and feel like strong empowered women.

“I would never sell a sex tape!” she added.

Tori admitted she does find herself wondering if she should’ve left out the headline-making news that the couple couldn’t afford a vasectomy from her book.

“Here’s the thing, I don’t believe in regrets. I do feel a little bit bad that I mentioned that in the book because my poor husband,” she said. “He’s like, ‘Now everyone’s talking about my private parts!’”

It was a specific type of vasectomy (reversible), which was very costly.

“We had gotten turned on to this doctor. It was a real expensive vasectomy because you could reverse it, if you ever decided to have more kids. He can afford to have a vasectomy!” she explained. “Don’t worry. We’re going to do it. We’re feeling very complete and happy.”
