Ellen Degeneres is working on a new comedy series for NBC that will feature a lesbian lead character.
Degeneres is set to serve as executive producer on the comedy alongside out writer Liz Feldman, who is behind the current NBC show 2 Broke Girls. The plot will follow the story of a gay woman and her straight male best friend. The two decide to have a baby, just as her friend falls in love and decides to get married.
