Russell Brand blasted the political status quo and called for revolution in a fiery Wednesday interview on the BBC show “Newsnight.”
The comedian acknowledged that he’s “angry” and demanded that people challenge an establishment he sees as destroyed by corporate greed, government indifference, and the exploitation of the poor.
“Stop voting. Stop pretending. Wake up,” exhorted Brand during his combative exchange with Jeremy Paxman.
Asked whether he sees any hope, the star responded, “There’s going to be a revolution… It’s totally going to happen. I [don't have] a flicker of doubt. This is the end. This is time to wake up.”
