The hard man is turning rocket man.
Tom Hardy has signed up to play Elton John in a new biopic of his life.
The British actor is set to take the lead in Rocket Man, which will tell the story of the star's life from the age of five. In the works since 2011, the movie will be directed by Michael Gracey from a screenplay by War Horse writer Lee Hall.

Elton himself is on board, and is planning to re-record a number of his songs for the soundtrack.
Because, of course, David Furnish is on board as well, as a co-producer for Rocket Pictures.
