LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Bill Engvall with Emma SlaterCaption Bill Engvall with Emma SlaterThere was a surprising elimination ceremony on Monday night’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

(SPOILER ALERT: This story contains the results of “DWTS.”)

Due to a technical error last week during the Eastern and Central time zones, the wrong phone numbers were shown on the screen for voters. As a result, the show decided to throw all the votes out the window, keeping every couple in the competition.

But, had someone been eliminated, it appears it would have been Bill Engvall and Emma Slater or Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke, as those two pairs were in the Bottom 2.

Monday night’s big winners in the ballroom were Elizabeth Berkley Lauren and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, who tied for the top with frontrunners Amber Riley and Derek Hough following two rounds of competition.

Elizabeth and Val earned their top spot based mostly on their main competition dance. Their sexy cha cha was an immediate hit with the judges.

“It was so clean, it was so sharp, it was so well placed, it was brilliant,” Bruno Tonioli raved as the pair earned the very first perfect score of the season – 30 out of 30.

Amber and Derek didn’t fair as well in their paired dance, but they made up the points by taking the top spot in their portion of the “switch” dance in the second round. In fact, their main competition number – a samba – didn’t sit well with Len Goodman.

“I found it a tad repetitive,” Len said, to a loud chorus of “boos” from the crowd.

Derek laughed, telling the judge, “The irony of it is, I literally did [that routine] for you, Len.”

Len tried to give the pair a bit of a compliment following Derek’s comments. He said Amber is “fantastic” as a dancer, but he only offered them 8 points, compared to the 10s from Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno.

Thankfully the trio of judges working together recognized Derek and Amber’s versatility in the switch round, where they added the additional points (4) that tied them at the top of the leaderboard.

In a surprise twist, Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff, who have been frontrunners alongside Amber and Derek, fell to just one place above Bill Engvall and Emma Slater, who hugged the bottom of the leaderboard.

Despite showing his passion for HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” dressing up like Jason Momoa’s Season 1 character, Khal Drogo, speaking in the show’s made-up language (Dothraki) and having Karina take the Iron Throne as his Khaleesi (Drogo’s queen) at the end of the movement, their number wasn’t a hit with the panel.

“You were playing it like ‘Conan: The Barbarian,’” Bruno said. “And somehow, it lost its flow.”

The pair took just 23 points, and while in their “switch” round (they were not in Amber and Derek’s group) they performed very, very well, the 4 additional points they earned could only increase their score to 27 out of 30.

“Dancing with the Stars” continues next Monday night at 8/7c on ABC.
